On Wednesday, March 24, 2004, Mr. Jesse Daniel Seymour passed away peacefully at the age of 51 years. He is survived by his wife Annabel Crop Eared Wolf and two daughters Marjie and Jo both of Standoff, Alberta.

He is also remembered by three brothers Don Seymour, Fred Seymour (Diana) and Sandra and Grant Seymour (Jenny); two sisters Doreen Saul (Dan) and Colleen Seymour; nieces and nephews Travis Saul,
Amanda August, Jade Seymour, Dallas Saul, Danielle Seymour, Jesse Tyler Seymour, Tyrone Seymour, Kacey Seymour, Essa Casimir, Tanisha Bourassa, great niece Ambera Shayde Saul and great nephew Ethan Jayden Bottle.

Jesse was predeceased by his father Daniel Seymour; brother Charley Bushey, grand-parents Dave Seymour and Catherine Bushey, Hycinthe Jules and Selina Jules (nee Calhoun), Uncle John Seymour and
Joe-Boy.

Jesse started out in Art and attended the Vancouver School of Art but his strong sense of community eventually led him into the field of politics. Jesse served on the Kamloops Indian Band Council; he had just started his second 3-year term in December, 2003. Jesse had previously served on Council from 1980 - 1988 with chiefs Mary Leonard and Manny Jules.

He had a strong belief in the legal and political rights of First Nations, and he worked tirelessly over the years to ensure these rights were protected. During his term at the Council, Jesse was involved in many innovative projects that resulted in enhanced community services and economic development. Jesse was a dedicated family man and spent as much time as possible with his wife and
daughters. They enjoyed relaxing at home, travelling together, fishing and movies. He had recently gotten his daughters started in golf.

Jesse was a friend to many and an inspiration to all who met him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and relatives, as well as by his colleagues on Council, K.I.B. Staff and the whole community. Jesse was a dedicated and hard-working Individual, a man of integrity who held to a high standard of principles both in his work and personal life.
