HAYWOOD-FARMER, Robert November 2, 1919 - March 25, 2010
Bob was born at Taylor Lake B.C. to Stewart and Mildred Elizabeth Haywood-Farmer. He lived at Taylor Lake and attended Green Lake School until 1929 when the family moved to Kamloops and then Savona.
Bob graduated from Kamloops High School and attended the University of British Columbia graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgical Engineering in 1942. After graduating Bob joined Cominco and moved to Trail where he worked until retirement. He held a variety of positions and retired as Cominco's Manager of Modernization in 1980.
Bob married Bertha in 1945. They resided happily in Trail for over 60 years, enjoying family life, work, church, community activities and entertaining friends. In 2006, Bob and Bertha moved back to the hills above Kamloops and the Thompson River Valley. Bertha passed away in 2007.
Bob is survived by his brother Frank Haywood-Farmer (Betty), sister Betty Dalgleish (Bob) his children Bruce (Barbara), Marie (Philip Goody), Laurel (Marvin Penner) and Ian. He was predeceased by brothers, George and Edward , sisters Mabel, Muriel (Frazer) and Ruth (Gammie). Grandpa will be missed by Sandra (Mike Robson), Leanne (Greg Noonan) and Kirsten Haywood-Farmer (Michelle) , Matthew and Allison Goody (Andrew Kitching), and Ross (Pam McClelland) and Walt Penner as well as great-grandsons Lucas Robson, Jacob Robson, Joshua Noonan, and great-granddaughter Kate Noonan.
Bob's grandchildren will remember his generous hospitality, interest and support in their lives and education, and the great breakfasts he cooked for them. We will all remember his lively spirit, sense of humour and great stories.
