Ken Beck passed at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops, B.C. on November 20, 2024, at the age of 90.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret, and children (David, Jane, Sheila, Allan, and Jay) and will be fondly remembered by many friends and coworkers. Nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild have cherished Pa’s anecdotes, kindness, attention, and playful humour.
Born on October 24, 1934 in Kamloops, B.C. Ken grew up in Kamloops and enjoyed his summers going on the CN trains with his father, Leonard Beck who worked at various CN train stops on the North Thompson CN line.
On August 3rd, 1957, Ken married his sweetheart Margaret Jean (Scott). Ken’s career as a pharmacist led him and family to Kelowna, Kamloops, Clinton, and finally to Chase, where he retired to enjoy family time and traveling.
Ken is remembered as a kind, thoughtful, service-oriented member of the communities where he resided. He served on Chambers of Commerce and municipal councils, and avidly supported individuals and local groups working on community projects and initiatives that enhanced the well-being of the community. He was generous with his time and material support for people in need. Over the years Ken volunteered as an ambulance attendant, hockey scorekeeper, community radio operator, video cameraman, and community newspaper column writer.
