Ksenia, or Sandy, as most friends knew her, grew up in Kamloops and Jasper. She passed in November 2014.

She had a strong Ukrainian background and spoke Ukrainian before she spoke English. She finished high school in Kamloops and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1953. Her Air Force career took her to Summerside PEI and France. While in Europe, she met many lifelong friends, including her husband, Daniel. After getting married in 1957, she had her first daughter, Kim, in France. They were then posted to Ontario, where Daniel finished his Air Force career, and she had another daughter, Kari. In early 1969, the family moved to Kelowna, settling in Peachland on Victoria Road and later Princeton Ave. She began working at the Municipal Office in Peachland in the late ’70s and continued there for 18 years until her retirement. She loved being back in British Columbia and reconnected with much of her mum’s family. She was quietly proud of her daughters and granddaughters and loved to spend time with her “girls.” She will be greatly missed at Christmas, her favourite time of year, and on crisp fall days when the sun streams through red and yellow leaves.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Daniel, daughters Kim (John) Fenton, Kari Kerr and her granddaughters Sarah, Amber and Emily.

Harry passed away in Jasper on March 30, 2020 at the age of 86 after battling a progressive lung condition.

He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Winnifred Home, sister Beth Graves, his son Tony, grandson Tyler, nephew Les Olsen and great nephew Sean Devine.

He is survived by his wife Edna, son Cameron, daughter Lisa, 3 grandsons: Harry Jr., Joel and Wyatt, sisters Jean Knox and Velma Stewart along with numerous nephews and nieces.

He had wanted to be a railroad engineer since he was a young boy and fortunately he attained his dream and thoroughly enjoyed it. His particular passion was steam engine 6060. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Royal Canadian Legion, Rocky Mountain Rail Society plus a member of many other associations. A highlight for him was travelling with our travel group from Jasper. He will be remembered for his great story telling and his dedication and loyalty to whatever cause he had chosen.
Robin Howie

Robin Howie passed away on October 7, 2019.

Dad was born to Spencer and Evelyn Howie in Kelowna on October 1, 1933. He spent his first 5 years there before Spencer relocated them to Kamloops where dad spent all of his life. Dad married our Mom Joan on August 29, 1959 and had two children.

Dad came from a large family and was close to all of them – there were always get-togethers and big dinners. He spent his career in car sales – first with Fisher Bros then to Dayes Mercury and finishing at Syd Smith, retiring in 1994. Dad and Mom had many trips with his sister Anne and brother-in-law Wilf where they had many good laughs and great times. They also spent time travelling in their little motorhome where they enjoyed camping, golfing, reading, 4:00 happy hours and times visiting with their grandchildren. Dad had also been a fierce fan of the Kamloops Blazers – holding a season ticket since they started playing.

Of all of Dad's greatest accomplishments, he would say his grandchildren were his finest. During the last weeks of Dad's life, he spoke earnestly of the importance of love and family. We feel his life was blessed with both.

Dad has left to remember him, his beautiful and devoted wife of 60 years Joan, his children Theresa (Chris) and Martin, his grandchildren Amy, Katie, Meaghan and Michaela, his devoted sisters Doreen (Don) and Sue and many nieces, nephews and good friends. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his integrity, his strong work ethic, his deep love for his family and of course, his shot of rye.
