Charlotte Patricia Sparrow (nee Evans) June 26, 1932 to June 4, 2024
Charlotte passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Charlotte was born to Bert and Irene Evans on June 26, 1932, in Rainy River, Ontario. She moved with her parents to Kamloops, BC, in 1940. She completed the majority of her education in Kamloops before entering St. Paul Hospital Nursing School. She soon found that nursing was not her calling in life and attended Vancouver Normal School, where she earned her teacher’s certificate.
Charlotte married Edward Ross Sparrow on September 14, 1954, in Kamloops, where they raised four children: Drew (Sandra), Glen (Trudy), Ward (Birgit) and Denise. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Jesse, Kaitlin, Ross, Wesley and Mick and her great-grandchildren, Boston and Levi.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bert and Irene, her daughter-in-law, Alexandra Sparrow and her husband of 59 years, Ross Sparrow (2013).
Charlotte had a passion for music. She played many different instruments, but her favourite was the piano. She loved a good card game and in fact, just prior to the co-vid lockdown, had her first 29 hand while playing with her weekly crib group. Many summers were enjoyed with her young family out in Celista with Granny Sparrow followed by many more at the Cabin in Lac Le Jeune.
Charlotte loved being with her family and held many family gatherings at the Valleyview home. You could always find her in the kitchen cooking up a big family meal.
